What this service means here

Specific capability.
Measured role.

Digital X-ray is available at The Lab and may be included when needed. Imaging is not presented as automatic for every new patient.

An X-ray can show certain bones and joint relationships, but it does not answer every clinical question. The decision to image should consider the history, examination, expected value of the information, and whether another evaluation or referral is more appropriate.

01

Clinically indicated

Imaging is considered after the history and examination establish a reason for obtaining additional structural information.

02

Efficient capture

Digital acquisition allows the clinician to review the resulting images without treating imaging as a substitute for the rest of the evaluation.

03

Interpreted in context

Findings are considered alongside the person’s history, examination, goals, and any need for outside medical review.

02The sequence

What care can
look like here.

The exact visit varies. This sequence describes the reasoning around the service—not a promise of a fixed protocol.

  1. 01

    Determine need

The clinician reviews the evaluation and explains why an image may or may not add useful information.

  2. 02

    Safety check

Share relevant imaging history and tell the clinician before imaging if you are pregnant or may be pregnant.

  3. 03

    Position and capture

The selected view is positioned and captured using the clinic’s digital X-ray equipment.

  4. 04

    Review in context

The clinician considers the image with the rest of the evaluation and discusses appropriate next steps or referral when needed.

Before care

Useful context.
Clear limits.

  • 01

X-rays use ionizing radiation, so the expected clinical value should be considered before imaging.

  • 02

Tell the clinician if you are pregnant or may be pregnant before any X-ray is taken.

  • 03

Imaging has limits and should not be treated as a stand-alone diagnosis or a guarantee about what care is appropriate.

03Questions worth asking

Clarity before
assumption.

01Does every new patient receive X-rays?

No. X-rays may be used if needed, which makes imaging a clinical decision rather than an automatic step.

02Why might an X-ray be considered?

It may be considered when structural information could meaningfully add to the history and examination. The clinician should explain the reason in your specific case.

03What should I share before imaging?

Share relevant prior imaging and tell the clinician if you are pregnant or may be pregnant. You can also ask about the reason for the image and available alternatives.

04Can I request a copy of my images?

Ask the clinic directly about image access and its current records process; this website does not promise a particular delivery method or timing.

Your next step

Ready to move with more confidence?

Start with an individual exam. Dr. Anderson will listen, assess, and explain what may be appropriate for you.
